We rescue adoptable dogs, cats and other animals that have simply run out of time and will otherwise be euthanized in shelters.  Our rescue animals are up-to-date medically and all cats and dogs are spayed/neutered and micro-chipped prior to adoption. We accept relinquished pets as space is available and assist those who can keep their pet until a new home is found through our Home to Home Adoption Program. We specialize in capturing the harder to catch abandoned pets found on the streets of Richland.  We organize low-cost clinics to protect pets and people from disease and help pets find their way home if ever lost through micro-chipping.  We help property owners with our Community Cat Colony Management Program and Barn Buddies Adoption Program.  We offer Educational Programs for schools/camps and also have a Pet Food Bank Program for those in need of assistance.

Got a "problem" pet?  We help keep pets in their homes by assisting those who need help with issues through advice, direct behavioral/rehabilitation services and training referrals.

We presently care for companion, domestic and exotic animals through a network of qualified foster homes until they are adopted.  We also work through a network of shelters and other pound rescues to help place their homeless pets.  For every pet we pull into rescue and adopt into a home, three additional pets are adopted directly from county shelters by our referral system.  Simply connecting people to pets they are looking to adopt - bringing people together with homeless pets still in shelters - saves additional lives and it works!

This non-profit 501(c)(3) rescue is completely run by volunteers with no paid staff.  Adoption fees never cover our actual costs and are reinvested into saving more animals in need.  One hundred percent of what is given to RARES goes directly to saving and caring for the homeless pets in need - please contact us if you would like to sponsor a homeless pet...with your lifesaving support, we will be able to save more!
